Code Enforcement Officer

The full-time, Code Enforcement Officer's primary objective will be to administer the City’s Structure and Property Maintenance Code along with enforcing the City’s many Nuisances and Zoning related codes. They will also enforce applicable federal, state and county laws and rules.  This includes inspecting owner occupied and non-owner occupied properties for code violations and prepare documentation necessary to ensure compliance in a timely manner. This position administers the City’s rental licensing program. 

  •  Starting Pay: $23.57 - $29.46 per hour, depending on qualifications

Minimum qualifications

  • Two years post-secondary education.
  • One year of rule, law and/or code enforcement experience.
  • Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.

  • Have the ability to provide clear and effective verbal and written communications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree.

The Cook positions at River Oaks Golf Course are part-time and hours include days, nights and weekends and require excellent customer service and presentation of food and beverages in the Clubhouse. This position is responsible for the preparation of all food menu and specialty items within the Clubhouse.

  • Starting Pay:  $13 to $15 per hour, plus tips for banquet events

Essential Job Functions

  • Prepare all menu and specialty items according to standard recipes and processes.
  • Maintain kitchen and prep area in a sanitary and organized fashion.

Seasonal: Part-time Six-month Park Caretaker

Part-time, six-month Park Caretaker with the Public Works Department is responsible for general care and maintenance of an elaborate park system including but not limited to athletic facilities, playgrounds, buildings, shelters, trailways and landscaping.  A high percentage of the job function is to clean the park facilities to provide a high level of customer service to the community park system.  Specific duties may include trash/litter removal as well as restroom, shelter, playground and common area tidying.  Applicants should be highly motivated towards the department’s mission of providing a high quality park system for Cottage Grove residents and visitors to recreate and enjoy. 

  • Mid-April through mid-October, approximately 20-24 hours per week
