Building Division
The Cottage Grove Building Division reviews plans, issues permits and conducts a wide range of
field inspections including construction, rental housing and property maintenance inspections to ensure compliance
with state and local building and zoning codes.
The purpose of this division is to ensure that public safety and health standards related to building
construction are maintained for the general welfare of the community. This provides for a safer community for all
citizens through proper construction methods and also provide for enhanced neighborhood livability and property
values.
The City of Cottage Grove has adopted the 2000 state building code which incorporates the international
building code and the international residential code.
