Grey Cloud Lime Kiln
10398 Grey Cloud Tr.
Located on a bedrock outcrop overlooking a backwater of the Mississippi River, the kiln is an
historically significant industrial structure that features massive 35 ft. tall rough-hewn limestone block walls
with keystone arches. Dating from the mid-19th century, the kiln was used to produce quicklime by burning locally
quarried limestone, an activity that was carried on until the 1890's.
