eSpecially For - Volunteers

There is a broad array of volunteer opportunities within the Cottage Grove community. These opportunities range from service on City advisory commissions to assisting with youth athletics. There are growing needs for persons to help accomplish the goals of service clubs and to volunteer for area non-profit agencies. There are myriad opportunities to help with School District programming or on City projects or programs. It is through the focused and hard work of all of the community volunteers that we are able to enjoy a fantastic quality of life in Cottage Grove.

Why Volunteer?

Volunteering From the Heart

Volunteering is the backbone of what makes Cottage Grove a great place to live, work, and play!  I am amazed at the amount of volunteers we have in Cottage Grove.  These community minded individuals coach sports, help with meals for those less fortunate, work to celebrate Cottage Grove through our Strawberry Festival, assist with the Holiday Train in an effort to fill the food shelf and donate time and money to the Stone Soup Thrift Shop!  And the list goes on!  And lets not forget those volunteers who work with the Lion’s groups in and outside Cottage Grove, those who plant trees and clean our parks, streets, and pathways and of course those who help out in our local schools.  And the list goes on and on!

I am extremely proud to be the Mayor of Cottage Grove, a town that takes volunteering to heart.  With everyone’s busy work schedules, it takes a special person to give up their valuable time to volunteer.  Thank you and keep up the excellent work!

- Mayor Myron Bailey

We need your service right now, at this moment in history. I’m not going to tell you what your role should be. That’s for you to discover. But I’m asking you to stand up and play your part. I’m asking you to help change history’s course.

President Barack Obama, 4/21/2009
