This is a part-time position that may work up to 19.75 hours per week. The hours worked are flexible. Applicant must successfully complete background investigation and pre-employment physical and drug test. Applicants must fill out a City application packet to be considered for the position. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Receive, inventory, catalog, store and safeguard all classifications of property. Ensures property is packaged and documented according to Department Policy. Bar code and enter property/evidence into computerized records system. Maintain evidentiary chain of custody to ensure integrity. Releases property/evidence in accordance with City of Cottage Grove Ordinances and Minnesota State Statutes. Assists with destruction of property, drugs, and weapons, as appropriate. Handle weapons during course of property room assignment in a safe manner. Clean and maintain interior of property room. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or GED. Ability to keep complete and accurate records. Knowledge of and ability to use computer hardware and software. Ability to deal with confidential information.
