Position: Landscape and Horticulture Intern

Position Qualifications: The City of Cottage Grove is looking for conscientious, hard-working individuals to assist the city operating departments with landscaping and horticultural design projects. The persons selected for this position would be expected to design and manage the construction of landscaping projects, both large and small. The persons would also perform physical labor related to horticulture, plantings and landscaping projects throughout the city. It is preferred that candidates have knowledge of landscape design and aesthetics.
Minimum requirements for this position include: enrolled in a two or four-year Landscape Architect or Horticulture college level program.
Hours: Full-time seasonal position during the summer with the possibility of part-time hours during the rest of the year. This is a training program intended to provide the full array of design, construction and maintenance competencies required of professional positions in their field. Interns will complete maintenance and construction projects manually. Some projects will require physical exertion. Interns will also complete landscape design and project management.

Position Qualifications: The City of Cottage Grove is looking for conscientious, hard-working individuals to assist the city operating departments with tree inspection and forestry operations. The persons selected for this position would be expected to assist in the in the management and prevention of Emerald Ash Borer disease and assist the City Forester with various projects, both large and small. The persons would also perform physical labor related to horticulture, plantings and landscaping projects throughout the city. Preferable candidates will have knowledge of forestry and natural resources.
Minimum requirements for this position include: enrolled in a two or four-year Forestry or Natural Resource college level program.
