Cottage Grove Synchronized Skating Team
Skaters participate in a team environment while learning and strengthening skills that will improve their individual skating while making friends and having fun. If you are interested in joining one of the Synchronized Skating teams registration in the Summer Figure Skating Workshop (found below) is recommended. The Synchro Teams perform in multiple competitions and exhibitions.
Teen Line
The Teen Line consists of a group of 12-16 skaters with the majority of the skaters over age 14 and Freestyle Levels 4-7 and Ice Dance level 4. Skaters have mastered the basics of good synchronized skating and are now executing moves and formation with good carriage, speed, expression, difficulty and accuracy. Skaters will learn two programs: compulsory program and a synchronized skating program.
Dream Team
Skaters will learn the basics of synchronized skating set to music. Must have coaches approval.
Dreamsicles
Beginner synchronized team. Skaters learn the basics of synchronized skating set to music. Must have coaches approval.
Figure Skating Program
The Cottage Grove Skating School offers a freestyle program and enhancement classes for power and
artistic movement for the more accomplished skaters. Skaters learn to put together their accomplished maneuvers
into a skating program with music. These classes prepare the students to compete in local, regional and national competitions at
their appropriate test levels. Our program has helped several students enter the professional world of figure
skating including Disney on Ice and the Ice Capades.
Lettering in Figure Skating
Park High School Figure Skaters can now participate in the school's lettering program by showing proof of skating a minimum of four times per week. Skaters will have to sign the sign in sheets in the office and check the box that indicates they are trying to meet lettering eligibility requirements for their letters. All sheets will be kept in the main office. If you have questions about the new program please talk to Linda Hoidahl or Liatra Oss.
