The City of Cottage Grove Recreation Department offers activities for youth ages 5 to 12 years old.

Hockey Skills Competition

Back by popular demand, is the 7th Annual Hockey Skills Competition.  Participants register and pay at the door.  All skaters must have a waiver signed by an adult and wear full equipment at all times.  Fee includes: hotdog, chips, soda, and prizes.  First hour is skills competition and the second hour we will split up for a game.  Competitions include 4 Corners, Long Range Shot, Fastest Skater, and Superman Slide.

Ages - 9-13

Presidents Day  - No School Tuesday

Come dressed in your patriotic colors as we celebrate “President’s Day Weekend” with no-school and a pizza party.   Bring your outerwear, skates, and sled to Peter Thompson Park for a day of fun.  Beverages, pizza, and dessert will be provided - bring additional snacks if you wish.  Pre-registration is required for this event.  Please register online or in the Recreation office located at the Cottage Grove Ice Arena.

Spring Break 2012

Spring Break is right around the corner and what better way to spend it than at Peter Thompson Park? Be sure to bring your own beverages, snacks, and lunch each day except on Friday. We recommend to send an extra set of dry clothes and outdoor play gear each day. Participants may register by day or register for the entire week at a discounted price.

Monday, 3/12 - Woodbury Movie Theater = $28

After lunch we will board the bus to the movie theater - bring extra money for snacks if you would like. The movie will be "G" rated and determined the week before. We will be eating lunch at the park before we leave.

Tuesday, 3/13 - Ping Pong Competition = $18

The days' events include a singles and doubles ping pong competition and skill games. Candy prizes for everyone. Bring your lunch and snacks.

Wednesday, 3/14 - Wooddale Fun Zone = $28

Roller skate the afternoon away at Wooddale Fun Zone. Included in the admission is roller skate rental and 12 arcade tokens. There is an additional cost to rent rollerblades. We will be eating lunch at the park before we leave.

Thursday, 3/15 - Thrifty Thursday = $18

Wear your pajamas and enjoy an afternoon of popcorn and a movie. Bring your lunch and snacks.

Friday, 3/16 - Pizza & Pop = $20

End your marvelous spring break with pizza and pop for lunch!
