Parks Maintenance

The Parks Maintenance division of Public Works is responsible for maintaining and repairing all of the city parks, park buildings, walking trails and park equipment to ensure their longevity in the community. Public Works Parks Maintenance The Parks Maintenance division services 550 acres of park land that include the following:

  • 25 city parks
  • 10 park buildings and 22 park playground equipment
  • 12 miles of unpaved walking trails and 3.6 miles of hard surface walking trails
  • Park amenities that include:
    • 27 baseball/softball city fields and 21 baseball/softball school fields, 29 soccer fields and 3 football fields
    • 4 sand volleyball courts Highland Water Tower Park
    • 8 picnic shelters
    • 1 archery range
    • 14 tennis courts and 16 basketball courts
    • 1 frisbee disk golf course
    • 7 hockey rinks, and 12 free skating rinks
  • To work with the Recreation division to provide safe recreational programs for city residents.
  • To maintain the City’s forestry
  • To maintain 30 flower beds
  • To maintain 10 irrigation systems
  • To maintain 4 fire station and city hall grounds
