Express Bus Service to downtown St. Paul from the Newport Transit Station is available. The transit station is located on Maxwell Ave., in the southwest corner of Interstate 494 and Highway 61. There is an indoor waiting area and large parking lot for commuters. For route and schedule information visit Metro Transit. Learn more about the Red Rock Corridor, which is a proposed 30-mile transitway connecting the Twin Cities' southeastern suburbs to St. Paul and Minneapolis.
Dial-a-Ride service, called Transit Link, is also available to residents. The local service operates much like taxi service, using vans and minibuses to provide transit in areas where regular route service is not available. You must call in advance to make a reservation.
Specialized transportation services are provided for seniors and disabled persons by Metro Mobility. Completion of an Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) application is required for disabled persons.
