The City of Cottage Grove and Washington County invite the public to learn about the proposed Red Rock Corridor station areas near 80th Street and Jamaica along East Point Douglas Road at an open house 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 23, at the Washington County Service Center, 1300 Ravine Parkway (not City Hall).

The city and county have been working throughout 2017 to develop small area plans for their proposed their proposed Red Rock Corridor station areas in these locations.

The small area plan will look at land use, economic development, and redevelopment opportunities in each area to make them more transit friendly. The goal of the project is to create strategies to support each community's vision for the future, while working to grow transit service in the southeast metro area.

In July, the public discussed mobility challenges, what features should stay, and ways to improve the small area. This open house will review long-term development scenarios that were produced based on previous feedback.

Everyone is invited to attend the open houses, and fall refreshments will be served.

About the Red Rock Corridor Transit Project
Red Rock Southeast Corridor is a proposed 20-mile bus rapid transit route, connecting the Twin Cities’ southeastern suburbs to Saint Paul. The transitway will originate in Hastings and stop at several locations in the southeast metro area before connecting to Union Depot in St. Paul. Riders may access many destinations from the Union Depot using other transit service, such as express buses, local buses, and METRO Green Line.
