Hydrant flushing is scheduled to begin April 11, 2017 weather permitting. Please note that the date could change depending on weather conditions.
If you have any questions about the hydrant flushing or street sweeping please call Public Works at 651-458-2808.
The flushing may cause the water to be temporarily discolored, but the water is safe to drink. Before washing clothes, check for discoloration as it could stain the clothing. When you turn on your tap and notice your water is discolored, run cold water until it is clear, about 10 minutes.
Crews will begin flushing in Zone 1. Each zone can take one to two days to complete, depending on the size of the zone.
Check the map (PDF)to locate your zone.
City crews flush the fire hydrants twice each year, in the spring and fall.
Crews will begin street sweeping once hydrant flushing is completed. The street sweeping removes the residual sand from the winter snow and ice control maintenance. All curbed streets are swept the full width.
Residents may not places leaves from their yards into the street. See Ordinance 8-4-5 for more information.
