Volunteers are needed to join Friends of the Mississippi River staff in planting multiple pollinator patch gardens throughout a stretch of Camel's Hump Park and Open Space, 7600 Burr Oak Cove S., May 20 from 9:30 - 11:30 a.m.
Why patches? Planting in patches makes it easier for the birds, bees, butterflies, and other pollinators to find the pollen they are seeking versus spacing out individual plants as well as diversifies the landscape.
All are welcome, however capacity is limited and registration is required. To learn more, including how to register visit http://fmr.org/events/2017/05/20/plant-pollinator-patches-camels-hump-park-and-open-space
