Water meters measure the amount of water used by individuals and/or businesses. As water meters age, the moving parts slow down. Replacing the old meters guarantees accurate billing for water usage.

If you have a water meter that needs to be replaced here is a copy of the  letter you will receive (PDF).   Note, if you do not receive a letter your meter is not being replaced.

What to expect

  • During the 15–30 minute appointment, a city-authorized installer will remove the old meter and install the new one.
  • Information from the existing meter and the new meter will be recorded for accurate billing purposes.
  • All installers will have appropriate identification and will show it to homeowners on request.
